Over Arm
My
previous hanged saw guard didn't satisfy myself about safety and after much though I decided to only keep the rotating arm in use. The two photos show the old hanged guard on the left hand side and the rotating over arm holding the dust hose when sawing. Of course the hose fitting could accommodate other power tool dusthoods.
The arm revolves around hinges without lock mechanism and hangs along the wall when not used. It also holds hear and eye protections that keep at hand every time I need. The
saw infeed roller as well as the
jointer outfeed roller shapes allow them to be hooked along the horizontal rail.
Here are the details. The base is bolted in the wall and the arm is made up of a stile and to rails. The last function of that component is to hold the
planer-jointer accessories. The head cutter cover sits along the diagonal rail when not used. The cutter cover arm hangs on a hook and the planer-jointer fence leans to the bottom base standing on a plywood shoe on the floor.
