Repositioning Gauge

I seldom need to save several saw fence or spindle moulder adjustments but when those needs occurred I promised myself to bring a solution under condition the accessory was as little and easy to use as possible. The side table extension gave the half of the answer with its reusable gauges and I just had to think about a tool-free way of adjusting and locking.

Overview

The base is made up of two stuck wooden parts. The support machined into a single piece of hard wood closely fits the carriage groove and allows accurate repositioning as well as stability. The top holds an embedded square nut and a slight hand-tightening of the bolt keeps the gauge at a standstill against the abrasive strip stuck on the base. The assembly can be quickly lifted and repositioned, without any tool.

Details

The table saw ever accommodated a repositioning stop I mainly use and the new gauges help for the keeping of two additional adjustments. The devices work the same with the spindle moulder fence as you may see below.

Spindle Moulder

That repositioning gauges proved useful in conjunction with the the edging fixture on the sliding table. Both enable workpieces to be quickly tapered or else paralleled, although I have never experienced the parallel cut method shown in the below photo.

Edging

I had a third element left that I turned into a back suppot for the end of the rip fence.
