Planer Dust Shroud
That ingenious two part dusthood does not take much room and covers the cutter head just as needed to never get in the way. But as displayed in the lower bubble the shroud tended to fall when tilting the saw blade and produced such annoying noise that I decided to fix that issue. The upper left photo shows the dust shroud location with the planer-jointer and the upper right one matches the planer-thicknesser. You may read about details in the
planer-jointer dust collector and
planer-thicknesser dust collector papers.
Actually a metal angle bolted against the frame easily solved the trouble. I merely had to drill and thread a hole then locked the bent metal plate with some washers to match the existing stop of the dust shroud.
Here is how the stop prevents the shroud from falling and you may see in the photo that the saw motor no longer holds the shroud and freely rotate when tilting the saw blade.
