Mini Planer Jointer : Tool

This document is part of the mini planer jointer project. The 82 mm width and 2.5 depth power tool enables 25 mm rabbets and the direction of the dust extraction can be shifted from right to left. So planning boundaries are led by the working tool. A plywood base holds the power tool upside-down and the front shaped sides allow the operator to adjust the depth. As the planer may be use to other purposes it can be removed unscrewing two wing-nuts. A switched electrical extension may start and stop the planer and a shop vacuum at the same time.

Overview

The two existing threaded holes accommodate an aluminium plate. The hook at the end plate aims only the planer sledge project. The mini planer project only needs two drilled holes. The first one is used to fasten the aluminium plate against the power tool and the second one helps to lock the planer on its plywood support. The angle screwed in front of the adjusting bed holds the infeed table extension. The pvc sleeve can fit the right or left dust outlet.

The planer support is made up of four parts. The two shaped sides steady hold the planer that can be locked with two wing-nuts. The screwed bottom could be fastened onto a workbench. The back side strengthens the base as well as enables the fence to slide.
