Spindle Moulder Fence Sled
The twenty kilos of the fence are not so easy to manage with a combination machine where shifting operations are frequently performed and I had to find a satisfying way of removing and replacing that accessory. Fortunately the continuity plate allowed for the plates to keep horizontal when moving and the two under-pins made me think that a sledge would probably the better way of painless moving the fence.
Here is how the fence goes from its storage place to the working location. I first pull the whole thing that goes out of its recess.
Then glide the sled as much as I can toward the edge of the workbench.
Now grip the two lock handles and lift the fence.
And locate the two pins into the matching holes with the help of a guide line I slightly engraved on the table top.
Finally I push the sled into place and you may see the two pins fitting the sled holes in the below drawing.
Here are the details of the sled.
